The facilities and services are available to the people and organisations of Matamata and district.
Railside by the Green, located in what was the old railway station, was established in 2002 in response to a community need to provide facilities for the use of community and organisational groups.
The building is rented from the Matamata Piako District Council. Extensive refurbishment was undertaken to provide a boardroom/meeting room and offices, and just recently, some of the offices were extended due to increasing demand for space.
Initial funding was provided by Five Cornerstone Contributors (Daltons, Mr & Mrs W Luff, Matamata Futures, Stanley Construction and Rex Barnes Engineering) as well as contributions from Matamata service clubs, community organisations and private donors.
